If you know your time of birth you can calculate your chart on this site and see what signs form your cross or angles. If you want to figure your angles based on your Sun sign, read on. The angles of the chart are the ascendant (our physical being and our attitude), descendant (relationships), Midheaven (career) and IC (short for midnight sky and associated with home and family) these form the cross for our lives. In terms of sun sign astrology and horoscopes, the angles are formed in the natural zodiac. When you look at the list of signs—Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces—count your own sign as the ascendant, skip two and count the next sign as your IC, skip another two and call this one the descendant, skip another two and you arrive at the Midheaven, which marks the height the Sun climbed on the day you were born.
Venus stations retrograde on July 27 at 2°Virgo57' and direct September 8 at 16°Leo36'. Venus is retrograde for 43 days. Between the two stations we have a New Venus at 24°Leo51'. Everyone whose birthday falls between June 5 and November 8, will have Venus in either Leo or Virgo for the year in the Solar return chart.
Dates Venus is in Leo are June 5 (at 10:59 PDT; note times given on this site use the 24-hour format and the Pacific Time Zone, -8H GMT) until July 14, 11:25PDT and from August 8, 18:11 until October 7, 23:53 PDT. That is 99 days; remember the norm is 25 days.
Venus will be in Virgo from July 14, 11:25 PDT until August 8, 18:11 PDT and October 7, 23:53 PDT until November 8, at 13:05 PST. The times shown are when Venus changes sign. Venus spends 57 days in Virgo—a month more than is her norm. This year we will also have more Venus-Saturn conjunctions than usual—two in Leo and one in Virgo; one on July 1, another August 13, and one more October 13 in Virgo. With the degrees life becomes highly personal, and applying these insights into a horoscope by Sun sign is not really doable.
This period is personal for individuals born between September 22-25, March 22-25, August 7-11, February 7-11, February 16-19 and August 16-19. The same would apply if you had planets at the degrees activated by Venus— 2°Virgo57', 16°Leo36' and 24°Leo51'. Similar themes were in play back in 1999, 1991, 1983, etc. To learn more about Venus see below...

Writing a book is always a work of love. Writing about the planet of love, Venus, is doubly so. As the author I love how the book looks and as a highly critical person I am pleasantly surprised that I still love the content. Yes, I would love to be able to add new thoughts to it, but I guess I would buy this book had I not written it. All the comments on the site about the book are unedited. For the non-astrologers I have posted the Venus tables so that you can look up your Venus sign, it may not be the same as your Sun sign. (Look up your Venus sign. )
Mars travels through the zodiac in about 26 months (avg. 780 days) , during which he spends six months in one sign or a 10-20° stretch of the zodiac, when two signs are involved. This leaves 20 months through the other 11 signs, which equals about six weeks per sign.
Mars is in its fall in Cancer and planets in their fall tend to overreact. Anger can become bottled and once that cap blows off we have an 'explosion' we did not see coming.
Note Mars normally travels through two signs in about 12 weeks, approx. three months.
In Gemini (August 7 - September 28, 2007 and December 31, 2007 - March 4, 2008
116 days or approx. 16 weeks
In Cancer September 28, 2007 - December 31, 2007 and March 4 2008 - May 9, 2008
160 days or approx. 23 weeks, almost six months
Mars also ventures beyond the boundaries of the Sun in the first week of October and stays out there until late March 2008. The technical term is out-of-bounds. This means that Mars feels that he is no longer accountable to the Sun—the controller, and is free to behave as he pleases! Let the games begin! We may not get the results we strive for but it won't be for the want of going all out. Just 'DO IT' becomes a motto. So of us will do so with abandon, throwing caution to the wind. Our actions may become somewhat exaggerated. What do you mean, "I can't do it—just watch me!" Because the energy is in such 'overkill' mode, it might be good to take note and perhaps prevent some of those pulled muscles or arguments that go too far. I plan to stock up on Beptobismal (pink liquid for an uspet stomach) and other similar products, and ensure I have headache pills on hand. I also plan to stay extremely calm in traffic, and let those with road rage overtake me.
The nodal axis shows where the eclipses will occur and has the role of showing us where we need to be headed. You will find that most astrologers use the words Dharma and Karma to illustrate the basic meaning of each end of this axis. I often see luck and obstacles also assigned to this pair. The Nodes are always an axis of two opposing signs and until the end of 2007, the pair remains in Pisces and Virgo. Oppositions are closely linked to relationships, two polarized views and to the concept of compromise. The eclipses last a moment, but two areas in our charts will be illuminated by this axis for another year.
I like to refer to these as the needle of the compass; we each have a pair in our natal charts. As with the compass the one pointing to North shows us the direction in which we ought to be headed; we can stay focused on one guiding direction and find our way home. Our natal charts are a snapshot of the heavens at our birth, but the motion of the planets does not stop. The nodes are reflective of the path of the Sun, which astrologically represents our ego, our identity and show us how we need to be or become in order to live to our full potential. The Sun is a rational and logical facet of our identity. The other part of the nodes is linked to the Moon, which astrologically speaking, represents our instinctive reactions, emotions, memories and our innate habits. From this perspective, the North Node is linked to the Sun and the South Node to the Moon. Karma, which means action (reaction) of the South Node, simply shows us that if we keep on doing what we have always done we cannot move forward. Life hands us issues whether we are prepared for them or not, and we cannot solve problems by using the same approach we did in order to create the issues in the first place.
The nodes moved into Pisces and Virgo back in June 2006 and remain in these signs throughout the year. Generation X (1960's kids) might find this a turning point year as they are called to do more based on their unique perspective. The North Node will be in Pisces, which is the sign of the collective, during 2007 Uranus will be with the North Node. Perhaps some traditions have outlived their usefulness and big shifts begin to take place. The nodal axis shift is discussed in the individual horoscopes.
At age 18.5, 37, 55.5 and 74 the nodes in transit (planets in the ever-changing sky) return to the same position as they were at birth. These are the years when we re-evaluate our direction in life. As we begin our adult lives around our 18th birthday, we need to decide what we are going to do with our lives. At 37, the question is am I still headed in the right direction. At 55.5, we are reviewing what we have done thus far and wondering if we are personally, feeling fulfilled with our efforts as we are in our elder years period. What do we need to give back, what have learned that we could share with our community?
At age 9, 27.7, 46.5, and 64.7 we have the transit North Node on our natal South Node. The order is reversed. These are like the mid-terms of the previous set, we can quite clearly see what we have done so far, and this helps us reconnect with our direction. We can never go back, so regrets are wasted; we can only return to a changed set of circumstances. These tend to be turning point years, naturally there are other planetary configurations helping nudge us toward the right direction.

The astrolabe is a very ancient astronomical computer for solving problems relating to time and the position of the Sun and stars in the sky. Several types of astrolabes have been made. By far the most popular type is the planispheric astrolabe , on which the celestial sphere is projected onto the plane of the equator. A typical old astrolabe was made of brass and was about 6 inches (15 cm) in diameter, although much larger and smaller ones were made. Read more...
