The Season changes on September 22, when the Sun enters the sign of Libra and moves into the Southern declination. In the Northern hemisphere it marks the beginning of Autumn and in Southern hemisphere Spring begins. At the Equinoxes daylight and night time are of equal length. The seasons mark changes in direction, and as our days become shorter until the Solstice of December 21 here in the north, they increase in length in the Southern hemisphere.
This year the change of seasons is more active in terms of astrological weather, because Pluto, which represents profound changes is in Capricorn, which is one of the seasonal signs. The seasonal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. They are known as cardinal signs. The word cardinal means key, chief, principal and pivotal and is associated with action.
The Sun in Libra month is about finding balance, making compromises and negotiating rather than dictating the course of action. Libra loves to keep the peace and has an intense dislike for arguments and likes things to be NICE. Happy birthday Libra! Libra also strives for justice in all things, it is the sign that weighs the opposing views equally and then works to find balance.
Mercury moves direct September 29 having become a morning star on September 20. It seems that the older we get, the less we notice these Mercury Retrograde weeks (about three at a stretch). Perhaps we learn to anticipate potential issues and glitches along the way and avoid those irritating Mercury-related events. However, I still will not sign an important contract during those three weeks. We also tend to stick to decisions we make during those three week periods.
There are few significant shifts of energy in October. Mars moves into Leo for a long visit beginning October 16, and Saturn changes signs October 29. I will not be posting a special Libra edition of horoscopes, rather I will do so with the bigger Mars period and long Saturn period. PST = Pacific Standard Time is 8 hours behind GMT=Greenwich Mean Time; PDT is Pacific Daylight Time and is 7 hours behind GMT. Time zones are typically expressed with either letters or the variance from GMT. The GMT times are given in brackets and all you need to know is the variance of your area to GMT and either add time if you live East of the Greenwich meridian at 0°W/E00' or deduct if you live west of the Greenwich meridian, which runs through England, France etc. I use a website http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ to get current information.
I use the 24-hour format on this website; that is 13:00 is 1PM, 17:00 is 5PM, thus any number in excess of 12:00 can be reduced to the PM time by deducting 12. Midnight is 0:00. Back to top
