Pisces Horoscope 2006

Pisces February 18 - March 20

Mars in Taurus 3rd house and Fixed cross 3, 6, 9, 12

Mars will have spent six months in your 3 rd house by February 17, 2006. The people represented by this sector of the chart are siblings, cousins, neighbours, and the people we chat with on a daily basis. The issues are communication, travel, transportation, gathering knowledge and daily schedules. You may find yourself without means of transportation, needing to connect with others in order to get where you need to be. There is a strong need to find common ground, and learn to accept each other through open communication-no excuses. As this is the knowledge gathering section of our lives - "Be curious always! For knowledge will not acquire you: you must acquire it." - Sudie Back. Perhaps you desire to learn something new.

Collectively the four houses involved are those linked to learning and wisdom. Developing and acquiring new knowledge and skills, learning to apply these and share your knowledge. These can be times when we change jobs more frequently, maybe have more than one. We could travel (either literally or figuratively) from A to B so often that we become bored, and continuously dream of getting as far away from it all as possible. What is the philosophers say: we only regret things we did not try. Some more food for thought.

Saturn moved into your house of work mid-2005 and stays there until September 2007. This typically marks time when you work hard, hone your skills and maybe need to deal with health issues. Could you do overtime, can you help me out, all these requests--always say yes. It's a great time to 'strut' your stuff, show your skills, and be recognized. Heads up at work and at home-make safety your number one priority. You'll be working hard over the next two years. What is the pay-off--well, in 2006 Jupiter, the planet of good luck and fortune, is sitting atop of your chart. This is a good thing. It tends to bring rewards, extra money and similar perks. Whatever is set in motion over the next two years is part of a ten-year plan.

New Venus in the 11th house

This year begins with Venus retrograde in Capricorn. It has been so since Christmas Day and continues until February 3. As I mentioned in last year's column this repeats from 1997-98 and 1989-90. Each of the five Venus cycles is akin to the hundred-year sleep in fairy tales. When the cycle connects with our charts, we have profound revelations and changes in our lives. This one is personal for people who have planets at 1°Aquarius, 23-24°Capricorn and 16°. Your Sun is at 1°Aquarius if you were born the day after the Sun moved into Aquarius. Your Sun is at 23-24°Capricorn if you were born January 12-14 and at 16°Capricorn if you were born January 7.

During these Venus times, we have weeks on end to ponder whether we are happy and content with an area of our lives. For Capricorn the question is most personal; are you happy with who you have become, what you do and how you interact with the world.

Capricorn is a sign of tradition and likes it when things are done in a manner society expects. If you ask for something you need to finish off with please; when you get something you say thank you and if you made a 'blunder' you immediately say excuse me-a little simplified, but just to illustrate the point. Capricorn can be the scorekeeper of the Zodiac, merits and demerits each get a column. In terms of the pearly gates, we are told that Saint Peter will be on hand to check over our accomplishments and shortcomings.

This house represents the rewards we gain from our career or avocation, and this is where we determine our wishes and aspirations and choose to pursue these. New friendships are formed, and old ones may fade away or move to a more intimate level. Is it all worth it? Does it give you a sense of satisfaction? No praise in the world can make it feel worthwhile, if you personally don't feel so. This period may also prompt you to get involved with charitable organizations, to do for others less fortunate than yourself. If you choose to work through the issues, you'll find your life overall more rewarding in one or more of the concepts and with a few people. More about Venus

North Node in 2-8 shifts to 1-7

Since the end of 2004, the North Node of the Moon has spent time in your 2nd house, which represents money. The nodal axis is a point where the paths of the Sun and the Moon intersect-in English the Sun represents the ego and the will, the Moon our emotions and instincts. We change dramatically in the course of our lives and the shifting cycles periodically bring different facets of our life to the forefront. Aries is the sign the North Node is in-what are you going to do about it all, is his question. His advice: just do it! Making money, saving it and learning to budget are the themes. Support from others comes your way only when you have dealt with your end of the bargain.

Mid-2006 this axis shifts onto the relationship axis-me and you. Relationships and relating is a two-way street, sometimes we need to put ourselves first. Who you have become vs. who you think you ought to be is the primary issue until the end of 2007. More about the Nodes in the Annual Column

Mercury Rx in the houses of Life

The Mercury cycles are in water and repeat from, 2000-01. We had the ideations of Air, the pragmatic work of Earth, the inspiration of Fire and now with Water, we get to look at how it makes us feel. No matter how great an idea, unless we feel emotionally comfortable with it, we cannot act on it. Our world functions on 'facts and figures', logic and practical action. Now we are asked to explore a side of our innate nature that does not seem to fit well into the equation-the function of Mercury to do deductive reasoning. Are you comfortable with how life is flowing in these areas? What is it we need to eliminate from our thinking, and daily routines?

The so-called houses of life for Solar Pisces or Cancer rising are the 1st house of self and physical body, 5th house of romance, creativity and children and the 9th house of higher learning, travel and philosophy. These houses collectively are to do with creation and recreation. Our physical appearance changes over time, some of the changes we implement ourselves and others are due to time and our environment. Our attitude toward romance, children and our creative side also goes through adjustment as we keep on recreating our attitude. In the 9th our views, opinions and convictions go through big changes of time, looking back we seldom even resonate with who we were.

February 8 - April 12 it is about you, your attitude and physical body now as the 1st house and your Sun are influenced. The Sun, astrologically speaking, defines your life force, ego, energy, who you are becoming and defines the process of becoming self-aware in the course of this lifetime. It is time to get that physical body in shape, put yourself first for a change and revamp your attitude and appearance. This is an excellent time to start a healthier regimen. You know exercise, diet and relaxation time. A healthier you becomes a more vibrant you.

July-August: the affairs of the 5th astrological house come into focus. This place in the chart houses our children, whose affairs can become of concern for you, both positive and negative. The duality of life does extend beyond black and white. Your role may be to dole out practical sound advice for them in order to teach them lovingly to handle life's 'ups and downs' in a more matter of fact fashion, rather than simply allow events to control their lives. Creativity lives here as well, it is the off spring of our mind. Whether you have always desired to paint, write or create 'masterpieces', make a scrap book-now is the time to do something creative that gives you a sense of satisfaction. This is also the area of life where we need and desire to have fun and to PLAY. We need to balance all facets of our lives in order to feel content. This is the time to recreate contentment in your life.

In the course of October-November, the affairs and issues of the 9th house become emphasized. This is the house of higher knowledge, foreign travel and our views on life. This house represents the area of our lives where we philosophize about life and life's mysteries. Religion is the domain of this house; the intent is to learn about comparative religion in order to grow our own convictions and ideas. This is the house where expand our horizons venture out there to learn something new about the part of life that does not exist in the familiar neighbourhood of our daily existence. In this house, we question our existence and seek knowledge. This is not faith for the sake of faith, or because that is what the doctrine states; this is where we develop our belief system, it is the 12th house and the sign of Pisces that represents surrender. Politics are firmly held opinions thus belong to this area of our lives. This is where we make our initial connection with the world at large; the stage where we share that connection is the 10th house, where Saturn has been since mid-2005. So many inter-weaving cycles, and now is the time to learn to connect some of those dots, remove those proverbial 'blinders' and review and revise our views. For the heads up refer to the Mercury column for 2006.
