Nov. 22-Dec. 21

From now until mid-2006, the theme is on creativity. Naturally, the theme is more complex than that one word. So, let us start unravelling the concepts associated with it. We are talking about what draws on our heartstrings and what makes us feel joy. At different stages of our lives, this translates to different things. Children are intrinsically linked to this area of the astrological wheel. Therefore, this can coincide with starting a family, and spending time and energy with our offspring. We could suddenly find ourselves coaching our kid's sports team. Before we are at that stage we typically find our mate, and you could fall madly and deeply in love during this time. March 2005 and October 2005 are months when the emphasis is even stronger.

For some this is the time to discover the inner muse, to give life to a book, a painting or a piece of furniture. We all have ideas of what would be a great thing to make or create; occasionally the impetus to do so is stronger. This is one of those times. [NN]

Until late October Jupiter in your house of wishes, hopes, dreams and aspirations enticing you to dream bigger dreams; to expect more from life. We all daydream and build castles in the air; if we do not first imagine how can we turn around and create? Life is what you make of it is such a corny cliché; but the longer I work with astrology and related subjects, the more I become convinced that it is so. So where do you see yourself a year from now? Will keeping on doing whatever it is you do get you to that space? On a mundane level, your social network will expand and you will likely want to take part in more festivities, leisure time pursuits and enjoy what life has to offer.

November 4, 2004 - January 9, 2005 and October 30, 2005 - January 3, 2006

The Mercury periods highlight three areas in your life. The ones at the end of the year both 2004 and 2005 occur in your Sun sign. The Sun represents our vitality, vim and vigour and has a lot to do with our physical body. Make sure you visit the dentist in the course of the year prior to end of October if teeth are something you have neglected. In November stay alert in traffic, slippery roads and make personal safety a priority; it is a time when mishaps are more probable. It is about you, your attitude, and physical body. Your energy levels may fluctuate and any neglected health concerns can crop up; from an impacted wisdom tooth to being more susceptible to the viruses out there. It is time to get back in shape, revamp your attitude and appearance; and perhaps create a healthier dietary regimen to follow. You love your independence, and if you simply opt to accommodate everyone else, you quickly become dissatisfied with relationships. A happy, vibrant you doing things you love make you a far better partner; it is not about quantity but quality. So do a bit to reinvent you.

March 4, 2005 - May 12, 2005

The Mercury period in the Spring brings creativity and children to the forefront. This time is about re-creating that sense of joy and reconnecting with things that make you feel alive. So what is it you do that makes your heart sing? If the answer is not much of late, then what are you planning to do to change that? Envision bigger; do not settle for anything humdrum. If we could not realize our dreams, why would the Universe entice us to have them? Lots of questions but you do have the answers, simply allow your mind to wonder and meander through different paths. We have options galore; the limitations are self-imposed. Think in terms of what you have always wished you could do or be.

If you started something new in the Spring of 2001 - it can now yield beautiful rewards. Any positive shifts and changes that took place back then are coming to fruition. It can also be a time of quiet realization that you want different things from life from here on out. Note how that Mercury retrograde period above brings reminder about what you wanted to create; now is the time when projects launched back in 2001 start bringing in positive results.

Saturn in your area of shared resources until mid-July

This theme has been going on for a year and a half now. Initially we feel the limitations and recognize the need for new structures with shared resources. This can manifest in lots of different ways. I will try to talk about the strongest potential ones here. You may be relying more on the resources of your spouse, have monies being delayed and learning to get by with less. These times only roll around once every thirty years, thus they make life-style changes and a profound impact on our psyche. This is typically a time when we become more resourceful in our attempts to secure something in the material sense that sustains both body and soul. During this time, it is prudent not to extend credit or loans to others in larger quantities than we can afford to kiss goodbye. For example, in terms of what it might be, our children's security is represented by this very area of the astrological chart. Thus, you may extend 'loans' to your kids with a payment plan of whenever; just realize that. It is all about our attitude, and if you do not want to be the lender it is up to you to say no and set those limits.

In July when Saturn moves onto Leo, for the next 2.5 years (until September 2007) it is the time start applying some serious elbow grease to bring projects and plans to life. It is the time to sort out wheat from the sheaf. It is not necessarily effortless, but progress is easy. Likewise, assistance is readily available. Philosophical quests and travel now has a more serious tone; travel for just fun may not be there but so, what if you have to combine some work into it. For the next couple of years work will not seem such a chore anyway. See the Mercury in Leo write up below for additional clues about this area of life that the taskmaster is occupying through 2007.

June 27, 2005 - September 4, 2005

The third Mercury period in the Summer involves expansion of our perceptions. It is a big world out there with lots of new things to learn. There is a strong yearning now to expand our horizons, to venture out there into the bigger world more boldly and to acquire new skills, knowledge, and education. You might alternately be contemplating religion and philosophy; pondering the meaning of life. This can also be a great time to consider teaching and sharing your knowledge outside those little circles. Journaling and writing your thoughts down might be wonderful activity. Perhaps you are just busy entertaining all those in-laws. 2005 can be an exceptional year for spiritual growth; it is said that when a student is ready a teacher appears. [Mercury]

July 27, 2005 - February 17, 2006

At the same time Mercury travels through Leo and has taken up residency there for two months, Mars moves in for an extended, six month, of the area in your chart that represents work, chores, schedules and building of skills. This is further emphasizing the fact that you'll have a busy, busy, busy year from about mid-2005 onward. Are you performing your duties and tasks efficiently, and productively? What do you want to change and how? This isn't a brand new theme either, as any discontent that settled in during 2003-04 with regard to what you do day in and day out, will need to be addressed now. We don't always cut loose at this time and make a total turnaround, however, this is when we tend to promise ourselves that we are still OK even if we make some profound changes. This is also a time when you may decide to make some serious changes with regard to your health, such as give up bad habits, loose those extra pounds, or maybe even more than that. Eventually you'll note that you accomplished so much in this six months, that it would take you weeks to tell someone else all that you did do. Routine tasks help polish off our skills leaving us more time to do the things we love doing. For example, if I wasn't a fast typist this writing would be tedious (yes, shame that I don't catch all those typos).

November 5, 2005 - Apr 5, 2006

Venus spends three months in the second house of money and personal finances. It is time to get serious about saving it, rather than spending every penny faster than it comes in. There are temptations to reward yourself for all the hard work, set limits to what these can be. This year is such a great one to take solid steps toward being more financially secure and starting to get ahead. The inner quest is about what agrees with your personal values and ethics. You personal convictions are tried and tested now. You will more likely to notice any flaws in your approach to money, time and priorities and ultimately learn to allocate these valued resources differently. You are also likely to learn to appreciate yourself more based on what you manage to shift into a more positive direction. [Venus]

It is so like Venus to repeat the zodiacal degrees. In October 2005 Venus and Mars will oppose each other at 23°Scorpio 22' while Mars is retrograde. The opposition was flipped with both in their own signs back in the Spring of 1984 and 1999.
