The bracketed notes at the end of the analysis refer to sections in the annual write up that may be helpful in understanding the reasoning behind the write up. For example, NN represents North Node. The pertinent dates are at the end of this write up for quick reference. This page prints at about six pages.
Overall, this is a year for quiet reflection. You may find yourself needing more time alone or working in relative isolation. Could be an excellent year to explore the idea of meditation, or to volunteer your services for common good. This could also be the year when thinking about retirement in all earnest pops into the picture, may not be totally age related. So often, we leave these types of thoughts until it becomes a rush against time. While pondering the deeper meaning of life and the concepts of spirituality, it might be a good time to also think about why you find excuses as to why not do the things you desire the most sooner. Many of us leave our biggest dreams to be fulfilled in the twilight years - couldn't you start sooner. This is also the year to claim responsibility for your health and well-being. Yes, we have the experts to give us advise, but they cannot walk us through every step. While the theme is contemplation the energy behind is that of action, once you determine how your actions should change in order to be on your path more firmly, assistance from others is readily available.[NN]
Until late October Jupiter better known as Mr. Big stays in your sixth house of health and daily routines also often referred to as work. This typically means that you are working harder than ever. It can also coincide with a time when any neglected health issues become more pronounced. If that is the case, tackle each with proper advise from people in the health care industry. If that workload gets too big, learning to delegate and to ask for assistance is the way to go. The shift at the end of October is toward relationships, suddenly you are meeting all kinds of new people, and getting fresh insights into yourself through the mirror others provide. Remember we don't recognize any characteristic - good, bad or indifferent unless we also have it.
There is a bigger theme in action at present than mere delays, small glitches in communication and missed appointments. It is time to review plans, make pertinent changes and along the way our mindset shifts a little, thus we are all likely to change our minds about some of the things. The Mercury period in this Spring brings private and internal issues into focus and at times a blissful blur. It's OK to turn the ringer on that phone off; let the machine catch it. We all need time by ourselves periodically, to recharge those internal batteries of ours. Get lost in a book, movie or gazing into space. Take baths, sit in the hot tub or sweat it off in a steam room; punch at the boxing bolster or lift weights. Private time for inner reflection isn't about sitting in a lotus position. Jot down those dreams and insights, then pick up a dream dictionary and start unraveling what your subconscious is telling you. Don't listen to gossip or repeat it; actually learn to say less for now or have long chats with yourself. [Mercury]
If you started something new in the Spring of 2001 - it can now yield beautiful rewards. Any positive shifts and changes that took place back then are coming to fruition. This can be a time to surrender some of that focused control and be more accepting of inner guidance. It is seldom vice to succumb to the temptation of secret love affairs, which could be the temptation now. [Venus]
This theme has been going on for a year and a half now. It is about limitations and new structures within your daily life. It can all feel too much at present; listen to books on tape, inspiring music or learn a new language, while enduring the daily commute. New routines and schedules are born once we acknowledge what needs to change. Time is a relentless teacher, and patience is the lesson. If your daily environment is depressing, you can make positive changes in it, without tossing it all away. We often get serious about learning, writing or communication more efficiently. Our obligations in our neighbourhood and within our community increase. Daily routines increase in quantity, and our responsibilities grow. This can be a time when the affairs of siblings, cousins, neighbours and individuals with whom we share that kind of bond, become a part and parcel of our everyday life.
When Saturn moves onto Leo, he enters the home stage in your life's play. The responsibilities in this area increase, children and family place higher demands on you. This can also be a time frame when you may want to downsize residence or conversely when your current living quarters fail to adequately meet your needs. New family members or those who moved out coming back can also be a theme. Repairs and maintenance around home-base can become all-consuming. Leo likes this grand - it is supposed to be a castle with a throne, right?
The third Mercury period in the Summer - also emphasizes the 4th house of home and hearth. Thus the theme above with Saturn moving into Leo is re-enforced. On a pragmatic level, home repairs and maintenance are doubly important. Check those insurance coverages with care - preferably in early June prior to Mercury changing signs. What needs renovating, rejuvenating or replenishing with home and family? What would make you feel more secure and supported by life? Instead of getting frustrated with each other, time would be better spent talking openly and honestly about what we'd each prefer in terms of family time. Life gets rushed leaving us limited time to take stock and to acknowledge what works well and what does not. Light a roaring fire and invite family and those who are likely family for a night of reminiscing and looking through photos. This is a time to get your subjective view of yourself onto a more realistic and positive perspective. [Mercury]
Mercury and Saturn are travelling through Leo and the house of home and family, and now Mars takes up residency in your first house of identity, attitude, vitality and life gets mighty personal for months on end. This blesses you with extra energy, which is a good thing is you are tackling major home renovations. This influence will also bring a focus on your attitude toward life in general. You can be a bit too aggressive and forceful, in your desire to achieve practical and pragmatic progress on your personal schedule. So, try to stay diplomatic, more bees with honey than vinegar...This would be an excellent time to get in shape, join the gym, take up hiking, gardening, walking, climbing and any other vigorous activity. Who you have become over the last few years or even decades may not meet with personal approval any longer, and you may want to re-invent yourself. While Mars is retrograde, in particular, pay attention to your safety and health, as you are likely to be more impulsive and not pay as much attention to potential hazards. [Mars]
The Mercury periods highlight three areas in your life. The ones at the end of the year both 2004 and 2005, bring the house of shared resources into heightened focus. Initially money matters and obligations can feel overwhelming, but the opportunity here is to be able to find fresh new ways to tackle these problems. This can also be a wonderful time, with perhaps a few stressful moments, to build a stronger bond with your partner. Honesty and open dialogue is the key to achieving this. "It's the truth" - doesn't really cut it. We each have our own truths and we hear better about those of others if they are voiced as my beliefs rather than truths, which we tend to instinctively equate with facts. This in excellent time to play catch-up with any research you have been meaning to do. Or perhaps a great time to do maintenance on the bathroom, and revamp it more to your liking.
Venus takes up residence primarily in the 9th house of higher learning, philosophy and long distance travel (ie. to the other side of the world or to the Moon). Secondarily in the 10th house of wordly acclaim, career and recognition. The theme of reinventing enters the picture here as well. Job offers or missed opportunies can enter the equation now. Perhaps you were offered a promotion, which you declined or a head-hunter called but you felt safer staying than exploring new possibilities. That temptation is back, perhaps more solid and reliable than back in 1997-98. The question Venus always asks when a new cycle is launched is - do you love it? The other question might be do you still desire it? On an inner level you may find yourself contemplating your beliefs and convictions - these change with time you know - and who you've become. Do you still like or better yet LOVE yourself? Whether you receive the Kudos (highly likely) or not - give yourself pats on the back for all that you have done thus far in life.
In the midst of it all the Venus-Mars cycle culminates in October, and relationship matters come into high focus. The polarity of masculine and feminine engages in a power battle, while the two are in mutual reception. Venus in Scorpio and Mars in Taurus - both are in the conserving, and stubborn fixed modality - try as we might it gets difficult to be flexible with this one. For you Taurus, this can bring tension in relationships and as Mars is in your sign, you may be the one that needs to be a bit more flexible and accommodating. There is an opportunity here to improve existing relationships, and for those unattached there may be romance in the air.[Venus]

It is so like Venus to repeat the zodiacal degrees. In October 2005 Venus and Mars will oppose each other at 23°Scorpio 22' while Mars is retrograde. The opposition was flipped with both in their own signs back in the Spring of 1984 and 1999.
