Aug. 23-Sept. 22

Creating security and making new commitments become a strong focus for the next year and a half. You may be more willing to take risks this year as this do or die energy begins to permeate into your awareness. This is an excellent period for research, getting to the bottom of things and learning more about the deep nature of people. We all have our motives, we typically know our own relatively well, but now you get surprising insights into what motivates others. You are likely to become more resourceful during this time, and learning about investment matters can become an obsession of sorts. The astrological house involved is the 8th, which represents all those inevitable concepts and issues in life. Now it is not mere fleeting thoughts but you want light shed on matters that we lump in the category - occult. That word merely means hidden. In centuries past religion was inaccessible to the masses - that was rectified about five centuries ago. The history of mankind is being rapidly rewritten as new discoveries are being made, learning about this can become a quest or your holy grail. Your tackle might be more mundane, perhaps you'll gut your bathroom and redo it from scratch or learn more about the tax laws. [NN]

Until late October Jupiter better known as Mr. Big stays in the area of your chart that represents money, values, priorities and ethics. This can be the year when you spend more freely, easy come and easy go; but you actually ought to be saving, saving, saving and with a solid plan. Some issues associated with money and priorities will get blown out of proportion - it is the nature of Jupiter. However, there will be opportunities to take on new money making ventures or extra work. A budget would be very prudent now. This is typically extra income flowing in, the trick is to put glue in your finger tips so that it becomes harder to spend it on a whim because now you simply want more. You may also find yourself volunteering to do things whether for money or another reward, remember time is of value and there are only 24 hours in each day.

November 4, 2004 - January 9, 2005 and October 30 - January 3, 2006

The Mercury periods highlight three areas in your life. The ones at the end of the year both 2004 and 2005, bring the house of home and family into sharper focus. What needs renovating, rejuvenating or replenishing with home and family? What would make you feel more secure and supported by life? Instead of getting frustrated with each other, time would be better spent talking openly and honestly about what we'd each prefer in terms of family time. Life gets rushed leaving us limited time to take stock and to acknowledge what works well and what does not. Light a roaring fire and invite family and those who are likely family for a night of reminiscing and looking through photos. This is a time to get your subjective view of yourself onto a more realistic and positive perspective. Extra time spent with family and opportunity for some honest and open dialogue to get matters onto a better footing.

March 4, 2005 - May 12, 2005

The Mercury period in the Spring is the time to pay attention to shared resources, investments, mortgages, insurance policies and to settle any long-standing debts whether these are directly linked to money or simply a commitment made. Initially money matters and obligations can feel overwhelming, but the opportunity here is to be able to find fresh new ways to tackle these problems. This can also be a wonderful time, with perhaps a few stressful moments, to build a stronger bond with your partner. Honesty and open dialogue is the key to achieving this. "It's the truth" - doesn't really cut it. We each have our own truths and we hear better about those held by others if they are voiced as my beliefs rather than truths, which we tend to instinctively equate with facts. This in excellent time to play catch-up with any research you have been meaning to do.

If you started something new in the Spring of 2001 - it can now yield beautiful rewards. Any positive shifts and changes that took place back then are coming to fruition. It can also be a time of quiet realization that you want different things from life from here on out. This can be nice return on investment or a little windfall.

Saturn in your area of hopes, wishes and dreams until mid-July

This theme has been going on for a year and a half now. Initially we feel the limitations and recognize the need for new structures with our goals and what we do in order to earn a living. It is challenging initially to make plans, take those first steps toward our dreams. It can be somewhat of an emotional roller coaster as reason and logic takes back seat. You may find that you need to work extra hard in order to have work to begin with. Maybe the underlying cause for any issues with moving ahead in life are stalled by the fact that you are not happy with what you are pursuing, and taking the time now to re-evaluate what you would like to be doing instead.

In July when Saturn moves onto Leo, for the next 2.5 years (until September 2007). This launches a period of contemplation and reflection. This can be a wonderful time to do any work that is done independently of others, perhaps behind the scenes or in a volunteer type of capacity. This area of the astrological chart represents hospitals, institutions and unions as well as altruistic pursuits. You might now find yourself working at that type of setting, or perhaps you'll find internal pleasure through volunteering your services instead. You may feel a bit more under the influence of the fates and ultimately learn to trust that all is well when the end is well. While Saturn is in Leo it is not about the individual as much about the collective, thus we all tend to find a yearning to do more for the benefit of many rather than continuing with selfish pursuits. This is a backdrop influence, which will periodically be accentuated - more pronouncedly so around mid-2006. Learn about stress control now to help with maintaining a good health and a positive attitude. In our rushed lives most of us don't take enough time to exercise, relax nor to completely unwind - we all need that.

June 27, 2005 - September 4, 2005

The third Mercury period in the Summer involves the 12th house of your solar chart. This is the house where we reflect on life's mysteries and get in touch with our own rich inner world. This is about gaining spiritual insights and learning to appreciate yourself - flaws and all. Sometimes it takes an illness for us to learn to count our blessings. It might be someone you love who has health issues and you end up spending time at the hospital or taking care of their affairs while they are recuperating. It's OK to turn the ringer on that phone off; let the machine catch it. We all need time by ourselves periodically, to recharge those internal batteries of ours. Get lost in a book, movie or gazing into space. Take baths, sit in the hot tub or sweat it off in a steam room; punch at the boxing bolster or lift weights. Private time for inner reflection isn't about sitting in a lotus position. Jot down those dreams and insights, then pick up a dream dictionary and start unraveling what your subconscious is telling you. Don't listen to gossip or repeat it; actually learn to say less for now or have long chats with yourself. [Mercury]

July 27, 2005 - February 17, 2006

At the same time Mercury travels through Leo and has taken up residency there for two months, Mars moves in for an extended, six month, visit of the area of your solar chart that, astrologically speaking, is associated with higher learning, travel and broadening our minds and lives through spiritual pursuits, quests for higher learning and through meeting people from different cultures, countries and backgrounds. A six month stint on a work exchange program might be just about the most perfect expression of this energy. No, not all Virgo Sun individuals are going to do that. There are different levels to its manifestation. Some are likely working very hard to gain new information to improve their work lives, others might be planning a business venture and a few will return back to the academic setting. We are all unique and only by looking at the entire birth chart can we delve into the complexities of our personal experience with relative accuracy.

November 5, 2005 - Apr 5, 2006

Venus spends three months in the area of your solar chart that represents what we love. This can be a great time to rediscover your passionate nature; to throw more parties or on a more serious note invest time and effort in making your most important relationships better than you even dreamt they could be. There is sustained inspiration at your disposal now; pour your heart out into any venture or effort that makes your heart sing, and create something beautiful and lasting. This is a fertile period both figuratively and literally. A relationship cultivated through tender loving care just like a garden produces beautiful results. [Venus]

Late September and early October can be the start of major life changes, new ventures, extra travel and big plans brewing.

It is so like Venus to repeat the zodiacal degrees. In October 2005 Venus and Mars will oppose each other at 23°Scorpio 22' while Mars is retrograde. The opposition was flipped with both in their own signs back in the Spring of 1984 and 1999.
