There are three air signs
in the Zodiac (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius).
Air signs are intellectually oriented and communicative, and approach life
from a mental or logical stance. They have an inherent need to protect themselves
from the irrational, illogical or incomprehensive should they experience something
along the lines then the questions and rationalization begins. Air signs are
social creatures and like to discover facts and points of curiosity value
with people.
If you can categorize and make sense of it with logic, then surely emotions can be categorized as well or at least the air signs will give it a rational effort. If each individual had each element in balance we'd strike a healthy distribution of emotion, logic, practicality and inspired action, however, all of us are unique and at best we all have an imbalance somewhere.
Fire initiates endeavours, sparks the inspiration. Earth is the elemental force that helps give form and moulds to our visionary ideas. Air is the element we need to think and analyze, to formulate these ideas further. Water is the element we use to determine how what we have created makes us feel and how it can feed our needs.
Hollywood has taught us that when something sad happens such as a death or a loss, we need to weep uncontrollably and be incapable of rational action. We don't all feel this way. Each one of the air signs has a different approach and as individuals we have each of these three air signs in our make influencing three or more areas of our lives. (To identify the areas we need to know the particulars of birth such as the date of birth, the time of birth and the place of birth. Next we need to look at planets and the aspects that are formed. We also look at the houses, which represent areas of life, and how these are influenced by the zodiacal sign on the cusp of the house as well how the planet which rules the particular house is positioned.)
Gemini is quick to adjust to new situations and circumstances, variety is the spice of life. Gemini is quicksilver, comedian energy - they are quick with the quip. They often need to talk, debate and even argue to understand how they themselves feel. They need you to listen to their story. Curious, social and inquisitive Gemini has a thirst for knowledge and simultaneously a need to report this information to someone. You need to be prepared to answer that question - what are you thinking about? The comeback that if I wanted you to know I'd be talking will wound. Debate: Is it gossip or information sharing? Always a challenge with Gemini. Often called Peter Pan, Gemini takes a long time to accept that they are adults, retaining a child-like curiosity for life and also the appearance to go with it. Those shockingly young looking people often have a strong Gemini element in their astrological make up.
Gemini can also become bored if there is nothing new to learn about that significant other, so the challenge is to keep changing with the times, to keep your Gemini's curiosity peaked. Gemini needs conversation. They don't necessarily need you to respond but simply to listen. That is the sign of a good conversationalist, illogical as that may sound. All air signs, Gemini, Libra, Aquarius, are communication types. Gemini is the first one, and astrologically we look at the 1st sign in an element as the one that starts the ball rolling. This is the sign of someone who can have a couple of conversations going at once, and most definitely like having several things on the go at once as well. Sometimes this means that they might like to have a few relationships going on simultaneously as well. Their curiosity and interest is quickly peeked, and the challenge for those partnering with Gemini is to keep things fresh and new.
Gemini is sometimes charged with being the social butterfly, checking out which nectar is the sweetest. If you think variety is the spice of life then you will probably be thrilled with a Gemini. A Gemini Sun may have strong Taurus placements adding stability and practicality to the personality. On the other side of Gemini we find Cancer, which is nurturing, caring and emotional. Gemini is also the first of the dual signs, (Gemini, Pisces), which adds a new facet to the Gemini personality. It's no wonder that more twins are born under that sign. Of course all things have a negative side and this particular trait can give birth to "two-faced".
The third modality is mutable or changeable. The mutable signs are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. Like the willow tree they will bend but won't break. They have the easiest time adapting to change and even welcoming adjustments, the most flexible of the zodiacal signs. That does not translate to weak by the way. Gemini is the fact gatherer and student of the Zodiac and when new information is brought in that indicates a mid-course adjustment is in order the Gemini is all for it. Spring is full in Gemini, the birds return from warmer lands and the nature is full of life. Virgo analyzes facts, figures and information and learns new ways of doing things, and voila let's just change a little and life will run more smoothly. Virgo harvests the fruits of summer, and perhaps explains the fact that we astrologer refer to Virgo as the caretaker, once harvested the produce of course has to be processed and stored so that we may eat nature's products during the winter months when the earth is dormant. Sagittarius is exposure to foreign or new people and things and with more knowledge adaptation is what is needed. It is darkest before dawn, or the winter solstice. During this time we prepare to celebrate the return of the light. In earlier days when outdoor activity was limited due to lack of light, Sagittarius marked this time frame, when withdrawn from activity people tend to draw within, and from within springs wonderful wisdom. This is a deep sign indeed, not just the court jester or Santa Claus. Pisces absorbs new experiences and feelings out of his/her environment and with the changing tides welcomes a new outlook or approach. The Spring is around the corner; the earth is preparing for renewal and a new cycle. Wherever I have lived this has been the time of the most variance in weather from brilliant winter's days to torrential downpours and mudslides. With Pisces in nature and Pisces in a person you get a broad spectrum.
Do you like a relationship that doesn't stagnate, keeps changing and new things and experiences come your way constantly then pick a Gemini, which can be fickle but never boring. Who keeps up with Gemini the best?
The combinations of signs are work in progress, and will be posted when I have written them. Relationship reports are available for ordering on-line, click here.
